NYOS Camerata
About Camerata
NYOS Camerata is the showcase, pre-professional orchestra that bridges the gap between youth orchestra and professional ensemble and comprises current senior and past members of Scotland's national youth orchestra. It provides professional development experience for emerging musicians aged 18–25 through a range of dynamic projects and collaborations, in a variety of settings and across genres, working alongside acclaimed professional musicians.
NYOS Camerata has gone from strength to strength since their performance at the Young Euro Classic in 2023, presenting a programme of Scottish trad music from female and non-binary composers and musicians. 2024 has seen a number of exciting performances and partnerships, including a collaboration with Ceòl is Craic and a return to the YEC in 2024.

Applications
NYOS Camerata membership is by invitation only. We often seek to provide pre-professional performance opportunities to senior members of Scotland's National Youth Orchestra, or those who are recent alumni.
As the performances are project-specific, there is no defined set-up of this orchestra, with size and scale determined by the individual project.
