Same River Thrice
SAME RIVER TWICE is a creative collaboration between Drake Music Scotland and the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland. Written by Malcolm Edmnostone it was first performed live at the Tolbooth in Stirling on Friday 8th August 2014 by NYOS Futures and Drake Music Scotland’s Digital Orchestra and we are delighted to perform this wonderful collaborative piece again at this year’s Cumnock Tryst Festival.
“The Cumnock Tryst has established a veryfruitful relationship with Drake MusicScotland and the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, and this year we welcome theincredible Digital Orchestra, collaborating withsome gifted young classical and jazz players from NYOS Futures, the cutting-edge, cross-genre, contemporary ensemble from NYOS.”
Malcolm Edmonstone worked with 11 musicians from classical, jazz and music technology backgrounds to devise a new piece of music full of energy, improvisation, tricky time signatures and creative exploration.
The Digital Orchestra is a group of talented young musicians with disabilities who operateunder the guidance of Drake Music Scotland to rehearse, develop their musical skills and create new music using inclusive music technologies.
