NYOS announces new trustees
26.11.2024
NYOS is proud to welcome Caroline Dooley and Kenneth Law as new members of our Board of Trustees.
Both Caroline and Kenneth bring a wealth of experience and expertise within the Scottish arts sector - Caroline has been Director of Marketing and Communications at Scottish Opera since 2019, where, in addition to leading the marketing, communication and design teams, she is also responsible for external relations. Kenneth is a solicitor in the insurance industry and an alumnus of the NYOS viola section, with whom he enjoyed tours of the UK, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany.
Caroline and Kenneth join our board as we continue to roll-out our exciting strategic plan and we are looking forward to continuing and expanding the reach of our work, providing world-class music-making opportunities to young people across Scotland.
“It is a great privilege to be appointed to the Board of NYOS and to be a part of this important organisation that helps young people throughout Scotland pursue their passion for music. I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the rest of the Board and the Chief Executive to help solidify NYOS’s reputation as a premiere training ground for aspiring musicians.” – Caroline Dooley
“Membership of the orchestra in my late teens and early twenties was an enormously valuable experience to me, allowing me to meet and travel with other young musicians, some of whom are still friends to this day, and to play demanding repertoire at a very competitive standard. I am now looking forward to giving back some of my own skills to an organisation which gave so much to me.” – Kenneth Law
After 8 years, composer and educator Oliver Searle is stepping down from our Board of Trustees. His guidance and expertise have been invaluable and we would like to thank him for his passion and dedication as a NYOS trustee.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to our entire Board of Trustees. Their unwavering commitment and hard work have helped to drive our mission forward, ensuring that more and more young people can connect with and become a part of their national youth orchestra. You can meet all of our trustees here!
